Water Bottle Rocket
Santos and Daniel
For our project we made a water bottle rocket. We wanted to make thing that could fly so we did a water bottle rocket. A water bottle rocket is a water pressurized rocket. Our inspiration was that we wanted to do stuff with chemicals, so we decided to do a model rocket, but the model rocket was way to hard and cost a lot to make. So we made a water bottle rocket. We got the project from a video on Youtube that showed us how to make it. The estimated cost is about 20 dollars in all.
To be more specific about the inspiration was from a youtuber. The youtuber’s name is The Sci Guys. He makes videos about how to make sciency projects. We really liked how easy the instructions were and how simple the materials were. Our original idea came from The King of Random, and he made a model rocket that went 1000ft+. Since we couldn’t do that we decided to do the water bottle rocket since it was not as hard.
Some problems we had when we had the idea for a model rocket was where would we launch it because it could go 1000ft in the air, so we did some research. We found out that we would have to launch it in literally the middle of nowhere and we had to contact the fire marshall so we scrapped that idea. When we started making our projects we could only do a little at a time, because we didn’t have all the materials when we first started.
One challenge we had was trying to have all our materials at one spot because some were at our house, some were at school, some were at some storage unit of Ms. Mytko’s. This was a challenge because we couldn’t get the full value of a work period because we could only do so much at one time. But one advantage of that was that we could work on the other project that we were doing because we were doing two things.
We learned that we should have gotten all our materials and had them in the same place in the beginning so we would have had more time to do the project. If we had more time we would have done the model rocket because it would have been a lot better than the water bottle rocket. If anyone else doing what we did or anything similar I would recommend to plan ahead a lot.
